Serco Consulting was formed in mid-2005 by the merger of Serco Government Consulting (formed 2003) and the  French Thornton Partnership (formed mid-90s and acquired as part of ITNET plc in early 2005).    The business's current market focus is on the public sector, mainly central government with an increasing capability and business in the financial services arena.
